Session 37: When last We met 5/29/23
General Summary
When Last we met, The party continued their cleansing of this mine beneath Melduinn. They moved room to room thwarting undead and demon alike. Some put up no challenge at all. Others proved a worthy fight. Some even were banished to their Abyssal home plane.
In the end, The party cleared the dungeon and made away with a crap ton of loot. With Quiet befalling the dank halls once more, they explore a giant gemstone in one room and a glowing eye in the other that seems to inflict psychic damage.
The party gathered around this 8 foot tall pink gem-stone. A cursory glance by Celeste showed that it was not of this world. Whatever it was. As the party remained near this giant crystalline obelisk, they began to hear an otherworldly whispering coming from all around. None of them could understand the language spoken. With a casting of Comprehend languages, Romaia could understand the whispers and they spoke of breaking of chains, freeing the imprisoned god, and so on. Ideas and edicts which experience has taught her pertain to Tharizdun. Relaying this to the party, Everything seems to click into place. Recalling names and Aliases given to Tharizdun. He who waits, The eater of worlds, The Anathema, The Chained Oblivion, etc. One name stands out in their memory - The Elder Elemental Eye.
With the revelation that Sommerset may be some kind of agent of Tharizdun, The cliff babies rush back up to the surface only to find The Earl of Melduinn awaiting them with a contingency of guards. And that's where we'll pick up next time!
