Session 28: When Last We Met 3/20/23

General Summary

When last we met, The party put off navigating their way through an ancient monster's jaws to explore the Archives a little more. In search of more magical items. They found the Magusbane written of by Mordenkainen. It immediately attacked the party and seemed immune to most magical attacks. But the silver weapons among the party seemed to badly injure it. It was finished off by Vandread as it attempted to escape via spider climb with Romaia and Tensi dealing some damage prior as well.
After that the party wandered into a huge Library of sorts which contained some hazards among its stacks of knowledge. Mistral inadvertently walked headfirst into a Gelatinous Cube which engulfed him whole. Tensi got him out with her thorn whip and the rest of the party proceeded to attack the ooze with spell and sword, With Romaia eventually rendering it into a puddle with a Firebolt attack.
The party found a long dessicated skeleton within the ooze. The party deduces this was NOT Mordenkainen's corpse due to a number of logical connections made by the party. All told, The party ended up finding a number of important looking Arcane Tomes as well as a Scroll of Protection.
Satisfied they have cleared this dungeon, The party resolves to enter the gaping maw and make their escape back to the material plane. They grasp hands and gently float down it's gullet, coming to land in a giant demiplane within the creature. It is filled with mostly rubble and old refuse with a few treats scattered around the "room".
The party gathers up these trinkets and heads through the portal placed within, returning them to the very spot they entered through. Standing in a forest clearing with the tabled necklace and broken stone chair.
And that's where we'll pick up next time!
