Session 23 - When Last We Met - 1/30/23

General Summary

When last we met, the party found themselves standing eye to eye with a shape-shifting dwarf.... With no clothes on. Being standoffish at first, the party gains his trust by telling him they are from the Academy and show the note written by Calder letting them know of their intentions. He says he can help the party, but doubts their sanity in wanting to willingly travel to a place such as the Abyss. He informs them he'll need 250gp from them in order to obtain a material component of a Tunable rod. The party agrees, hands over the gold and half the party volunteer to accompany The Dwarf, named Ükkô back to Tirasa to Acquire the item.
While waiting for their compatriots, Mistral, Tensi, and Vandread partake in various activities with their downtime. Soon enough, the party reunites with the dwarf in tow and decide to rest for the night before attempting to journey to the Abyss. The party tests out their new Instant Fortress to great success, Taking refuge in the fortified tower for the night.
The following morning, they enjoy a decent breakfast cooked by their host and begin the preparations for the Plane Shift spell. The party gather round and the Fork is struck, and the party instantly moves between worlds and finds themselves in The Abyss on the plane of Baphomet. As close as possible to the Artifact they need to acquire. There's just a maze standing between the party and their goal.
They move as carefully as possible through the labyrinth, unfortunately tripping a trap and having a run in with some skeletons along the way. But they dauntlessly press forward, deeper into the claustrophobic maze, Sure their quarry lies ahead. Vandread, with the Aid of Mistral's Shadowspawn, Discover a hidden door located in an adjacent room within the Labyrinth. Does this lead them to their objective? or to more danger. We shall find out next time!
