Session 101: When Last we met 11/3/24

General Summary

When last we met, The party had taken the challenge of an ancient warrior known as Eric The Allegiant. He engages with the party in a friendly bout of combat. Outnumbering the man 4 to 1, the party is able to come out the victor in that contest, but not before he got off a few good hits of his own.
With a final shot from Celeste's bow, Eric the Allegiant falls over and stops moving. Vandread, Slightly worried they killed their only lead, administers a spare the dying followed by a quick healing spell to bring his health back up. Eric Eventually stands back up to his feet and congratulates the party on their victory and thanks them for giving him a good battle.
With that, he begins leading them to a place known as the Hall of the Exalted. They travel over a period of 5 days, wherein their travels mostly go unnoticed and they never have an attack or a violent encounter. The only thing that seems to gnaw on the minds of some of the heroes of maplevale, is how glorious this place is and an overwhelming need to not depart from here just yet.
One night as they are taking their rest, they are approached by some sort of Apparition of glowing pure light. It questions the party asking if they are mortal and from the Material plane. They respond positively and the apparition asks them to bring a message to her husband still alive on the mortal plane. The party agrees to do this and the spirit takes her leave, satisfied.
Finally, the party reaches a large golden hall. They enter inside and find a kind of library or hall of records of some kind. Within, priests and clerics are quietly recording the histories and great deeds of the past. The party gets their attention and they seem to immediately sense the evil that Mistral brought in with him. The priests form up ranks and one of them reveals himself to be an angel of some kind. It interrogates the party and displays a whole mistrust of them and their intentions. The party states their purpose and says they are willing to testify under a zone of truth. The angel, Micah, takes them up on their offer and has them wait in the vestibule.
Several minutes later the door to the archives opens and a bald priest ushers them in. He introduces himself as Cleric Hogorn. He administers the Zone of truth spell which the party purposefully fail. Then The priest and the angel interrogate them once more of their intentions and their answers don't change. Finally they ask Mistral if he would willingly give up the tome. To which he says he can't, Then the priest asks the rest of the party that if it truly came to sacrificing their friend for the sake of destroying the book, would they. They all respond in the positive.
Satisfied with their answers, Cleric Hogorn drops the zone of truth and allows the party to stay while he consults the Book of Exalted deeds to find the information they seek.
Finally he returns with the name and location of a Solar. Aziraphal. Located on the top of Mount Kailash, two days journey from there to the North-west. With that, Micah and Hogorn bid the party farewell and wish them luck on their journey and convincing Aziraphal of their plight.
Eric the Allegiant also takes his leave of the party, Thanking them once again for giving him a taste of Glory and says if they pass by his little slice of heaven again, that he would love another bout and promises he won't go down so easily next time.
The party then continue onward to the north west. By the time they arrive to the foothills of Mount Kailash, Vandread feels an overwhelming sense of never wanting to leave Elysium ever again. But for the time being their quarry lies ahead of them. A gleaming Fortress at the top of this mountain, where they will find a Solar hopefully willing to help them in destroying the book.
And that's where we'll pick up next time.

Eric The Allegiant - Man-at-arms in the service of Lord Chareau of Tavario (a feudal ruler who lived 600 years before the events of this campaign). He helped the party find information on a Solar and got to taste the thrill of battle once more. 
Micah - An Angelic creature (Deva) working to guard the Hall of the Exalted. Interrogated the party on their intentions and their willingness to part with the Book
Hogorn - Cleric and head Abbot at the Hall of the Exalted - Also interrogated the party on their intentions and gave them information on a Solar named Aziraphal "The Warden" high in his fortress on Mount Kailash

• Party Arrive atthe Hall of the Exalted
• Gains entry to the hall
• Interrogated by The head priest and an Angel named Micah
• Given the name of Aziraphal on mount Kailash

6th of Brigid

• Party arrives at the base of Mount Kailash ready to ascend

There is no day/night cycle here but back on Auldsod it is Morning when we pick up next time.
