Ninfea's Favor Arc

The Triton bard, Ninfea, will ask the party to escort her to the other side of the country. To return to the Turquoise Haven from whence she came. It is 120 miles from Ashstar to Sorahigh, where the closest port is. Followed by an additional 22 miles at sea to reach the Island.   Encounters on the way:   Day 1:   Done - You see Gibbets on the outskirts of Hagswood. Inspecting them shows they are living skeletons (Encounter vs. 4)   Done - Near Hagswood. A Child's laughter is heard off of the path, along with flickers of lights, Investigating will initiate combat vs. 4 Will-o-wisps   Day 2:   Done -Party with the lowest passive dexterity trips on a hidden rock. As they are falling, they feel as though they are being "caught" before hitting the ground. A nearby Treant uses its vines to catch the player before they hurt themselves.     done - A fox and a mastiff run in front of the party along your path. The party can tell that they're best friends.   Day 3:   Done -Beggar’s Riddle You come to a fork in the road. The road splits in three ways, a beggar sits in the middle fidgeting with some wood. His name is Vevric and he will say; “Oh heroes and noble folk, please help me, I am a frail old man. Silver 'n gold, I'd take any gift. I'll tell you even the path safest and swift. Lasses, ladies, please hear my plea! Show some compassion and sympathy.’’. If they give him something equivalent to gold: ‘’Thank you, M'lord, M'Lady! So few of you are not this greedy. The right path is yours, t'has no goons. I hope to see y'all again. Real soon.’’.   Done - You come across a glade in the forest where the sounds fade away to silence. Then you realize you can't hear your footsteps any longer. Or your voices. Leaving this 100 foot area, your hearing and voices return.   Day 4:   Done - You see in the distance, a riderless horse walking along your path slowly. It has saddlebags bulging. it begins to gallop faster as you approach (DC15 Animal handling check to slow it, and catch it.) In the saddlebags you find: 1000gp 2 boxes of turquoise animal figurines (250gp) 1 Carved ivory statuette (250gp) 1 Large gold bracelet (250gp) 1 silk robe with gold embroidery (250gp) Various gems and stones (Citrines, Moonstones, quartz, zircon) 350gp value total.     Stop for Rest each night.     ________Part II   You are in the small village of Sorahigh. It is a humid day. A rolling fog sits over the town obscuring it slightly. Your new companion Ninfea has asked you to show her the way to return to her home. This might allow you to gather a few more allies. You can hire a boatman to take you over to the Wildrim Islands.   ::villagers Show some fear and avoidance of Ninfea::   Your party hire Norton Speller for 20sp.   Along the way: (roll on DMG 109 for random weather) D20 1-12: Normal 13-17: Light wind/Light rain 18-20: Strong Winds/Heavy Rain Disadvantage on Ranged weapon attacks if Strong Winds Disadvantage on Perception checks in Heavy Rain     A pod of Dolphins Swims alongside your vessel for 1d4 hours   They are attacked by 3 Water elemental Myrmidons and 3 Sahuagins. They will try to attack the boatman and cripple the ship. (Ship has AC 15 300 HP)   On initiative count 20 a Tidal Wave hits the surface of the boat (Tidal wave spell mechanics). Roll a d4 to determine where on the ship it lands. Dex Saving throw 4d8 Bludgeoning damage on a fail + Knocked Prone; Half damage on a save and not knocked prone.   You arrive on the upper most island. It is a tiny strip of land with waves crashing all about you. You are pelted with sea spray Its a wonder how this island hasn't been washed away by the Merchant's sea. At the center of this island you find a stone lighthouse built into the center. a grassy path leads up to the Lighthouse. You notice a set of large rocks and boulders scattered along your path.   (DC 16 Perception check to spot Tortle before hand)   As you approach, one of these boulders begins moving   as it seems to roll back and forth of its own volition, You notice it is colored differently than the other rocks. This object begins rising up on two legs which protrude out. then you see two arms aiding in its ascention, a tail and finally a head looking like an old aged humanoid though this is clearly not human.. It lets out a large yawn as it comes to consciousness. It notices your party and shakes off its grogginess instantly and takes a fighting stance.   "There are no riches here, sneak thiefs. Return your hostage or you will come to harm. These people are under my watch. Nobody attacks a member of this community without me having a say!"     "Who are you?. speak slowly!"   Ninfea knows this person as Platt, the protector of the Turquoise Haven.     Ninfea gives you a kind smile, and you watch as her alien form slowly descends into the water. After she gets about waist deep, she fully dives in with almost no splash and her form disappears fully as she swims downward at a lightning fast speed.
