After the Battle

You are standing in the Main chambers within the city council building in Mount Cashell.
You hear a commotion coming from the streets outside!
The party heads for the main entrance and meets the city council. They will be happy to see you and thank you for your intervention in the chamber. They can answer questions if the party asks of them.
"They don't know what came over Master Vaarn. He was rarely seen but was always known as an odd fellow."
As you exit you see Plague Demons Running loose throughout the city! They are crawling along the sides of buildings, attacking people on sight. Just ahead of you there is a market square filled with people And plague demons are closing in! What would you like to do? ::Encounter 1 Vs. Plague Demons::
At first you see them attacking civilians and them running in fear. After a few moments City Guard begin beating them back.
::Encounter 2 Vs. Plague Demons::
A few moments later the Faithful dominion arrive in a large force. Launching spell and arrow decimating the hordes of undead. They begin mopping up the ones you didn't deal wtih
You eventually start seeing Faithful Dominion soldiers holding them back and gaining control of the situation.
One of the players gets a message from Rosalind.
"The city is overrun by these creatures! My soldiers reported Melduinn destroyed. Get back to the Penitent Scholar as soon as you can we need....."

::At some point::
"YOU" a voice yells out in your direction. You look over and see The Inspector Francois Devereaux barreling towards you he seems to have broken off from a detachment of the city guard.
"I saw you leaving the Council building. Where is my sister?!? You were in there with her, Is she safe?? Adele Devereaux"
((Depending on her status and the party's answer))
"Thank you, Now please get inside somewhere safe!"
He rejoins the city guard unit and they take off in a sprint towards the council building.

::Encounter 3 Vs. Plague Demons and....::
You are at the final stretch. Crossing the Falkland River and heading south will bring you right to the Penitent Scholar. You approach one of the bridges that leads across. You look down to the other side of the river and you see more Plague demons. Only these are not behaving erratically, they seem less feral than the ones you've encountered before and today. They are standing still, almost as if in a formation blocking your immediate path.
Behind them stands The Avatar of Tharizdun. His Equine hooves pace back and forth behind the small swath of Plague Demons. His lipless mouth seems to be curled into a smile.
You watch as his body begins to twitch and black tar or ichor looking material begins springing out from either side of his body each pooling into globs on the left and right of him. Then you see these globs begin to form and take shape. Two duplicates of the Avatar stand beside him after a few moments. Then they each vanish in a flash as if from a teleport spell leaving the single Avatar alone on the bridge. He picks up his javelin and runs the blade across his forearm. Black blood pours out of the wound and coalesces on the ground beside him. The avatar then looks at you with an eyeless stare and vanishes. It's only you and the plague demons ahead alone on the bridge.

Suddenly 3 members of the Faithful Dominion run up and form up ranks beside you. They are heavily armed and armored. "Stand firm, we are with you!" ::encounter Party Vs. Plague Demons::
Rise of the Balor in the second round of combat, The pool of black liquid left by the Avatar begins to boil, Bubbling ooze gives way to form as two massive arms reach out of the void created by the puddle. You watch as rising up from the nether is the creature most of you saw in that first fateful dream that brought you to this land and this group and this event here and now. The Demon General of the Abyssal hordes stands before you. Its fleshy wings unfurl and it lets out a Roar of triumph as it is enveloped in flames!
The 3 members of the Faithful Dominion witness this abomination rise And tighten their helmets. "Fight on friends, for the Everlight!" ::place Balor in Initiative order::
(If they make it out alive)
In its final death throes it lets out a screeching roar and falls to the ground bloodied and defeated. As it makes impact on the ground it explodes in a gigantic burst of fire and flames.
::Every Creature within 30 feet must make DC20 Dex Save or take 20d6 fire damage::
The fire teeter out to small embers and charred remains and the city grows a bit quieter around you.
You run and see the Penitent scholar ahead of you. You burst through the door - the entire bar is empty. The cellar door stands before you. It is locked (Players can either knock or try to pick the lock or break it down - AC14 HP20)
(If they knock) - A muffled voice comes from within the cellar "Who goes there!"
The players can talk to the person within to get them to open the door.

In the Cellar

You see a mass of people in the cellar. Members of the faithful, civilians, City Guards all looking defeated and tired. Some are nursing wounds, some are lying on the ground not moving. Rosalind is there her hair and face are a bit singed she's repairing a piece of her armor.
(She can relay to the party that Her soldiers reported Melduinn completely destroyed and the remainder of its residents had succumbed to the abyssal plague and attacked them. Only 2 made it back safely. But the residents of Melduinn followed and this attack on the city is coming from them and any that they were able to turn.)
::reacting to the Avatar of Tharizdun:: you saw him? He turned to 3? He's all about threes. 3 Relics, 3 gods imprisoned him, even 333 is considered "His" number. So it would make sense that he would be able to split into 3. Perhaps he's weaker in that state? He only has one material form on this plane. If he divides that, it has to divide his power as well. Sure he's weaker but he can spread death and disease across the planet faster if there's more than one.
::Reacting to Vaarn:: So that treacherous snake is behind this? I knew there were elements of evil behind our government but We couldn't pinpoint who until today. I think all our missions are clear. There is a Lich that must be destroyed and three entities. You know where the lich resides. I say its time you pay him a visit.
