Wood Elves

Wood elves are descended from the elves who moved south during the ice age. This separated them, ethnically, from high elves and drow. After the ice age, they were involved in the wars between those groups and probably took the brunt of the suffering, though they were also the most numerous of the three groups. They spread throughout the whole world, and in the northwest, lived in forests and similar places for much fo their history. When humans came, some resisted, more retreated to more remote lands (including under the power of the high elves), but many welcomed humans. The result has been that they have lived among humans much more than other elven groups, and have had much more influence on human culture. They have been involved in the affairs of humans, their wars and trouble, and this has contributed to the dissolution of most of the wood elves political organizations. They retain some enclaves in places like the Saxon Hills, Lenay Mountains (especially the upper highlands), Cape Marlana, and north of the Makeesa River.
