Lion Lard

More in a long-form proper name, Lionkin lard, is a substance that suits its namesake. It comes from fat developed in the body of a lionkin. Usually this is extracted from belly tissue, and often easiest found in eldaric-descent lionesses. Its unique and distinct for having a very fluffy and cushiony format to its base and neutral state. If extracted and left to stand, it will hold like a dense foam - Very soft, plush, slightly springy and resiliant. Its been sought for furnitrue, clothing inserts, and in rarer cases even supportive cushions. It is said lionkin have understood their body's 'secrets' long enough to favor cuddling their peers who have protrusive amounts of fat stores. Some believe they knew their lard was special, while others insist its just a more primal 'hugging' urge in them, as they will do similar behavior on other species if allowed.   Likewise lard principles still apply. It has an effective melting point, and those applying it to furniture are expected to keep it at room temperature or face a strange sinking feeling with its insides. Often with stuff like clothing, the amount is small anyway, and sealed well for the chance of melting, and the subtance will often rebond and thicken again with cooling. All the while the flavor is semi-popular, if nothing special, with some saying to cook with it gives off the aroma and flavor of an yolky egg savoryness. Lionkin meat is more often compared to as a gamey beef, but if separated the lard or grease itself has actually picked up as more of a pairing for poultry or to pan-heat toast with.

Properties

Origin & Source

Lionkin of a variety. Lionesses in general are more effectively found for extraction, between their 'purpose' in being promoted into fat collectives (ranging from a small 'squad' to the majority) called Noble Cuddles, and traded around. However males are easily still able to produce the same material, especially in spoiled and wealthy high-status postions. Likewise all categories can provide for it, just that it becomes more easily extracted from those engaging with more heavy eating, and voracious activities, as well as those who can be acquired for the process.
