Jukat Plastic
Also sometimes shortened even further to 'Julastic', is a material that out-survived its ho'naht sub-race, the Jukaht. During a crisis of poor mineral access, they tested and manufactured new ways of producing armor and started to dapple in 'folding' and reforming layers of a thin plastic-like substance. With the right base materials and process, this proved highly effective in making sturdy armor that was protective against many basic substances of combat. It had some odd properties that some still dispute with superiority or issues. Some suggested it was actually better with small explosives than metals, or that it absorbed more heat easier. However it fell apart with aggressive heat found in most higher energy weapons, and piercing rounds.
Even after the erasure of the Jukaht race, this material and technique was adopted by the Qorraxen aggressors for a while, and distributed across in wide omniversal trade for a large part of the IME era of Kasar time. However by the time the Orbital Archipelago was turning a millenia old, there was a lot of discarding of this over other minerals. The two don't strongly correlate, but solavores and Ziighorite played some factor in showing a superior flexible armor, among other diverse options. Nyulisian Steel itself was higher valued for a long while by the native ho'nahts, and fluctuating prices and different trade dynamics opening changed the way some products were valued, leaving Julastic less and less valued over time. However some cheap or outdated races can still be found making use of it, including a few dorvan isolationists.
