ISSV Interloper

The base model of science expidition. A smaller vehicle that can house a researcher, and/or send remote drones. Elongated front, a more rounded cockpit, then wings coming from around the back and thrusters, making it roughly resemble a T shape. Its only slightly bigger than a Fang jet style craft in total, making it a very small study vehicle. Its only able to hold a single mature k'siiva, and can actually be controlled well remotely without any. The facility also features not only a drone dispatch, but the systems to keep producing drones. As long as no error or supply issues occur, its intended to be a ship that can roam far distant spaces, and produce continual drone data and experiments that even invoke sending them into dangerous atmospheres or obstacles.
It has a single modifiable gun mount at the front, often fixed with a cheap singular blaster - not intended at all for combat, but drastic measures if a pilot is in trouble in the deeper depths of unknown territory. In some instances a pilot has permissions altered or allowed by a supervising team, making this sometimes also seen as a sort of 'training' vehicle Scholars use with their underlings. Larger Explorer edition research vessels often come with an Interloper docked or coupled with it for use.

Armor and defense

Only basic xhorplating, not meant to withstand serious stress. Additional solar shielding and lightning deflectors are present for weather conditions. Can be upgraded to have a more serious energy shielding, but often not done, and the vehicle can be seen as expendable in some instances.
