Cirrene Theology

Cirrene theology is less romanticized than its Numarian counterpart. Cirrene cultures often emphasize proving worthiness and ascension above one's own station through earned merit, which can be seen reflected in their interpretation of the divine pantheon.   While it is rare to find a numari who does not revere the gods, the Cirrenes are more likely to have varying degrees of religious habits and customs.   Cirrene theology divides the pantheon into three distinct groups: the Creators - who created life; the Twins - who oversee death; and the Keepers - who preside over the world in which mortals live.

The Creators

At the dawn of time, there was nothing except Oneir - the embodiment of Order - and Kaiora - the embodiment of Chaos. The two Creators collided and the mingling of their powers formed Altis, the heavenly plane and the twin moons, Noctis and Nycis.   Looking to test their powers of creation, Kaiora and Oneir formed Orbis and its denizens. The Keepers sprung forth as divine embodiments of the various domains of the planet, such as the seas and skies.

The Twins

Born in the wake of the Creators' collision, the twins, Noctis and Nycis are embodied by the moons that haunt the night sky. Noctis is the presider of night, dreams, and shadows. Nycis is the presider of death and the afterlife.   Nycis leads worthy souls to their eternal home in Altis, as mortals join the gods in their ascension to the ethereal realms. Souls who are judged to be unworthy by Nycis are doomed to spend eternity in the Ocasus, the cursed realm of the Forgotten Ones.   Noctis guards the Ocasus, ensuring that the Forgotten cannot escape their eternal prison.

The Keepers

The peoples of Cirra believe that the six Keepers once lived and walked upon the lands of Orbis as powerful beings before they ascended to Altis to join the Creators and the Twins in the ethereal realms. The Keepers lived amongst the mortals for centuries as shapeshifters, never permanently bound by a single form - neither male nor female, beast nor human.

Solis - Keeper of Sun and Fire

Solis' domain is the touch of the sun's light, the burning heat of a flame, and all manners of energy. They are especially revered by smiths, crafters, and scientists.

Oara - Keeper of Nature

Oara nurtures all plant life and natural treasures of the soil. They are especially revered by families, agricultural workers, and alchemists.

Marus - Keeper of Sea and Water

Marus rules over all watery domains and the creatures that call them home. They are especially revered by anyone who seeks safety and prosperity on water.

Ceria - Keeper of Sky and Wind

Ceria presides over all weather and seasons. They are especially revered by adventurers, travelers, and those seeking good fortune.

Daeros - Keeper of Conflict and War

Daeros revels in all battles, strife, and in the ever-shifting tides of war. They are especially revered by warriors and strategists.

Zora - Keeper of Beasts

Zora oversees all the beasts and creatures that roam the lands and skies. They are especially revered by hunters and animal-keepers.
