The Tai'Leks form the Great Tempest, first of the Crimson Chariot, as a countermeasure against the growing army of Betrayers.

After recollecting themselves amongst the stars from whence they came, the Tai'Leks devised a new strategy to deal with the rebellion on the planet below. Though they were not able to reduce themselves to the point of being able of walking amongst they creations, they would instead need to make someone to fight more effectively in their stead. In channeling their desire to protect their children and cast divine retribution on those who struck at them, they created the Great Tempest, Barakkus, and sent him to join the battle as their aid. With his unparalleled strength, he rallied the faithful Typhons together under the banner of their creators, forming a united front that would become know as the Tai'Sosé, the Sacred Guardians of the Tai'Leks.
