Ekura

Ekura is the largest continent of Ora, stretching from the Nol Peninsula in the North to Saltor in the South, and from the Westwall Mountains in the West to the plains of Wasburg in the East. Some definitions count the islands of Berset and Trelf, as well as the Skyland Hohbjerg toward the Ekuran territory. Less commonly, the ice mass of Frostschloss is sometimes attributed to Ekura as well. The Ekuran mainland can be roughly subdivided into seven large regions, based on geographical features (sorted roughly form North to South):   Nol Peninsula Westwall Mountains Plains of Sid Ekuran Desert Pixie-Woods Southern Ekura Drowned Peninsula

History

Ekura has always been the center of action on Ora, being not only the largest continent of the planet, but also its most culturally and ecologically diverse one. The people of Ekura - mostly Humans, Fairies, Giants and Human-Animal Hybrids - have swapped between periods of peace and war many times over. However, the rough territories have always remained the same, partially due to natural and magical adaptation of the respective people to their land, and partially due to the Ekuran Desert, which splits the continent in half and allows barely any passage of significant military units. The largest military conflict of recorded history so far was the Dragon Invasion on Ekura roughly 160 BC, which killed a significant portion of Ekura's inhabitants and enslaved the majority of them, eventually ending when the Ekuran people united against the invaders, signing the Ekuran Continental Defense Treaty. Ever since the end of that war, the wars waged within Ekura have shrunk to a minimum, with only minor conflicts about individual acres of land being fought over in physical violence.   With the newly found resources and time that was previously consumed by war and conflict, the later half of the 2nd century BC lead to a surge of technological progress in all of Ekura, with the years 130, 118, and 102 BC marking the industrial revolutions of Southern Ekura, Nol-Sid, and Westwall respectively.
