Hola Cola

Hola Cola is a brand of carbonated soft drinks popular in the Western Hemisphere. It is manufactured in various locations throughout Central America.   American beverage corporations like Pepsico dominated the soft drink markets throughout the 21st century. In the 22nd century, these, along with many other American companies were essentially destroyed when most major American cities were targeted with nuclear weapons. Lacking corporate leadership and with starvation besetting the survivors of World War 3, most of the remaining beverage manufacturing and bottling plants were nationalized or commandeered to produce potable water and other consumables for aid and relief.   Once the World population began to stabilize in the mid-22nd century, consumer products became more desirable, and companies - new and old - sought to capitalize on this. One of the most successful newcomers was the Hola Cola Corporation in Mexico which pioneered their flagship product, Hola Cola. Hola Cola resembled the popular soft drinks of the past, but with stronger notes of citrus to play to the tastes of the initial target demographic in Latin America.   When Mexico joined its neighbors to the North to form the United North American States, Hola Cola became an American company and started to broaden its appeal to other American demographics due to the ease of trade. Hola Cola became a major employer of American Refugees in overseeing and maintaining manufacturing facilities and distribution networks. Hola Cola enjoyed unimpeded fiscal growth and prosperity in the American markets, but failed to breakout into the Asian, African, or European markets due to trade restrictions and robust competition from regional brands. Hola Cola saw a brief burst of popularity in Australia in the aftermath of the early 23rd century Pacific War, which saw North American troops introducing their beverage of choice to local Australian markets.   Hola Cola took a major hit in the middle of the 23rd century after the System Wide War, when tensions rose between the UNAS and their Southern neighbors, the Confederation of Southern Nations - ConfederaciĆ³n de las Naciones del Sur. The drink was popular in both North and South American markets, but it was headquartered in former Mexico, which became embroiled in civil war during the War of the Americas, making it difficult to remain neutral. After the war, the Hola Cola Corporation was forced to decide whether to remain in the newly independent Federal Mexico, or move its assets North into the UNAS. Ultimately they chose the latter, though manufacturing and distribution in the CNS would continue through local production facilities.   Today Hola Cola is still immensely popular on both sides of the American DMZ, though recepies and product versions vary widely between the two markets to match local tastes and preferences. Because of this shared interest, Hola Cola Corporation's stocks and financials are used as a bellwether of difficulties or improvements in UNAS/CNS relations.   Hola Cola "North" Products:
