Flight of the Neparo Blossom

Far and wide, tales are told about the flight of the blossom from the greatest Neparo Tree. The flight of the ice blue blossoming against the light blue sky crosses the ocean as a swarm of clouds, leaving a path of love in the air.
The activities surrounding the blossoming of the tree draw attention far and wide. Found on an island off the coast of Itania, members from around the world come in with their loved ones for several days worth of celebration. Neparo Berries, a blossoming blue fruit, are sold mainly during this time, serving to welcome love into the extravagant blue theme of the festivities.

The Event

Festival of Spring

The Spring Festival, once a far smaller event, has been pushed back to a later date for the flight of the blossoms. As the tree does have a period in which the blossoms fly, it often takes place anywhere in the range of the festival, as the Spring festivities take place over an extended week.
During the festival, there are a variety of activities on the island including a variety of nightly celebrations where lovers take to the streets dancing. However, the main activity of the festival is, of course, centered around the flight of the blossoms.

Flight of the Neparo Blossoms

For decades, the largest Neparo Berry Neptune Tree has been at the center of festivities and celebrations of love with the coming of Spring. The iconic and eventful flight of the blossoms takes place when the blossoms of the Neparo Tree, no longer being weighed down by the Neparo Berries, are taken away by the wind and out across the sea.
The night where this takes place, as the harvest of the berries usually makes the blossoms' flight predictable, allows everyone in the entire city to sit with their loved ones and watch the flight of the blossoms.

Neparo Tree Growing Patterns

Despite mainly being found in places where winter lasts longer and colder, the Neparo Tree is known for having a unique growing season, overlapping with the worst of winter. Growing the Neparo Berries in enclosed flowers, which later blossom and are central to the festival, the tree is able to grow best during the winter and open it's leaves again during the early Spring.
The summer season is when the tree's base grows, leading to it sprouting more branches to grow more fruit. This has lead to the current center of the festival being hundreds of feet tall with branches that stretch wide across the island. This doesn't act as an impediment to the city as the further out branches usually are thinner and less densely packed during the summer growing season.

Government Influence

Both the festival and the day of the flight are put on by the Itanian government, being funded directly. The harvest and display are always put on by government hire employees, held as one of the largest days of income for the government throughout the year.
