Invasion of Desarmín

The Invasion of Desarmín was a failed attempt by the Kingdom of Dreibach to thwart an imagined upcoming military invasion of Dreibach by the nation of Desarmín to the south. These operations were carried out on the orders of the Count of County Wildewand.
Between Y1082-1089, at least a dozen separate companies of soldiers were sent into the Impossible Mountains towards Desarmín. Companies routinely lost 60-80% of their soldiers to exposure, starvation, natural disasters, and monster attacks on these missions; at least two companies did not return at all. The invasion ended upon the Count's death, as his heir refused to continue operations. It is widely considered a failure by local scholars, and is mostly forgotten by historians.
