Gnussy

Gnussy is a Gnomish dish, particularly popular in western Belcantas. It is a thick curry whose primary ingredients usually include cream or nut milk, shallots or leeks, curry paste, and various herbs and aromatics. This base sauce is simmered over low heat for hours before chunks of vegetables and meat or other protein are stewed in it. Common sources of protein include lamb, duck, chicken, egg, and fish (the latter particularly in the river- and lake-dwelling gnomes along the Dreibach River).
Gnussy varies both regionally and from individual to individual. Matriarchs of large families take particular pride in their gnussy and guard its recipe carefully. The ability to serve good gnussy is considered a key skill in young gnome women of marriageable age.
Notably, the spicy curry paste used in the base gnussy sauce is not native to continental Belcantas, but rather a product of the west-central Aquatic Kingdoms. Gnussy's popularity on the continent is a direct result of gnomish society's openness towards traders from other cultures.
