Giuseppe was born six months before the fall of Bjália, the only son of its Steward of Gold, Jovanaius Verdini. His mother Mariana fled with him to Cantonova, but raised him with the history of the Verdini Family always at the forefront of his mind. Thus, he grew up with the firm belief that he deserved to be the powerful and well-respected leader of a shining city on a hill, a monument to elven greatness and to the righteousness of the Verdini name.
On the advice of Queen Titania, the Almaviva family has long refused to allow Giuseppe and his family to hold any official power. He has instead made his name in the casino business... as well as other, shadier enterprises known only to his associates and to urban legend.
