Erlkönig
The Erlkönig is an archfey of the Autumn Court of the Feywild. He is the leader of the Wild Hunt. He has long served as second-in-command beside the Pumpkin King.
He appears as a nine-foot-tall humanoid with asymmetric features and mismatched glowing eyes that peer out from under a helmet adorned with antlers. He wears heavy-looking black armor that resembles a stag beetle's shell and a cape made from the hide of an owlbear. He runs down his quarry on a huge Fairy Mare, with a greatsword large enough that even ogres and trolls would need both hands to lift it. He moves quickly and is much too agile for his size, and uses his sword one-handed. In the other hand, he holds a second helmet in the shape of a black pumpkin. Some believe this helmet, not the one on his shoulders, contains his head.
The Erlkönig is one of the most frequent archfey to take Changeling children. There are no recorded instances of these children either returning to the Material Plane or reaching adulthood.
Many legends connect the Erlkönig with the god Arawn. Since it is wildly unusual for archfey to worship gods, some suspect that, instead, the god's direct influence is the source of his immense power and control over the Wild Hunt.
