History
Settled in 334 After Exodus (AE), Zion, known then as the planet Caledon, was a routine colonization of an Earth-like planet by the Empire of Gaea. It didn't have any unique value to the Empire until it became the birthplace of Gaius Celaxor. It is Gaius' encounter with the divine source of Adonai and his transformation to the First Angel, Metatron, that became the lasting legacy of the planet. Nicknamed Zion by the religious faction in control of the Empire, it wasn't until the formation of The Talmidim that the name became officially tied to the planet and its people. It was also the source 800 odd years later to the Tribunal of Angels. When the Tribunal ruled that Angels holds a special place in Talmidic ontology, the planet became a sacred site to the Talmidim and helped shape the politics of the organization until Metatron was chained in 3675 AE. Currently ruled by Cardinal Rochelle, the planet continues to influence galactic politics. Due to the high divine energies surrounding the planet, there are often numerous accidents a year as the inhabitants are consumed by divine flames. Others who survive the contact don't ascend to angelhood and merely gain strong powers. These souls are conscripted as Templars and sent to die on numerous Crusades that is called by the Talmidim against various aliens.
