They believe that the Seven Serpents will return and seek retribution on those who trespassed on their land. They believe that by worshipping the Seven Serpents, they will be forgiven and blessed with draconic abilities in their next life. They were a once secretive group that would dwell primarily in the outskirts of the deserts and The Thunderlands, unwelcomed by most of civilization due to their extreme and sometimes dangerous views. They now have taken over Capital Vice Port under the rule of Azhda'Zarr and work to capture and enslaved those who do not turn to their beliefs as the king's thirst for power grows. The Servusquamae work as apostles of Azhda'Zarr, converting any who will listen. They are required to pay tributes at the beginning of each season to maintain their status in the Luminare. Tribute can be made with monetay assets or by conversion or capture of other people.

Public Agenda

The Luminare work to turn those around them toward the Light of Azhda'Zarr so that they may too be one with the Seven Serpents in the afterlife. Their city of riches and luxury tempts those in poverty to turn to the way of The Luminare. Those who do not willingly turn are sometimes captured and enslaved. The Luminare wish to turn all global citizens to their ways and be rewarded by The Serpents when they return.

Assets

Capital Vice Port has been seized and is controlled by the Luminare. This vital access point to the sea is one of the only remaning trade centers. The city of Capital Vice is also home to most luxury living in Onyxeptah, as well as much farmland, mining and trade.

History

The Luminare began 7 years after Ferrum Tactus began, when druidic explorers found traces of what they believed to be draconic energy. The Luminares split off from the rest of civilization to continue their studies and eventual worship of these draconic entities. Small groups of Luminares lived in the outskirts of society and in the wilds, primarily the deserts, searching endlessly for dragonic artifacts. These small clusters of worshippers lived in secret, pushed away from major settlements due to their dangerous ideology. Their study and self sufficency carried on for nearly 150 years before a great electrical storm ripped across The Thunderlandsand from the storm emerged God-King Azhda'Zarr, The Serpent's prophet. Born from a great bolt of lightning striking the sand, Azhda'Zarr is said to be the reincarnation of one of the Seven Serpents. Azhda'Zarr travelled The Thunderlands and deserts, gathering the solitary bands of Luminares into his own legion of followers. As the Luminare's numbers grew, so did their power. in 154 FT, Azhda'zarr commanded his followers to seize and overthrow Capital Vice Port and began constructing their own refuge where he now rules.
