Covenant Kingdoms

The Covenant Kingdoms were a worldwide alliance of nations founded in 513 4A. The largest such alliance since the First Age, the Covenant Kingdoms banded together to resist Yog’s conquest of the world. The Covenant’s member nations are spread all across the globe and include members of many free peoples – elves, dwarves, humans and halflings.

Member Nations

  • Arcane Ascendancy: A conclave of high elven wizards, the Ascendancy is headquartered not in Ondûn but rather in an extradimensional pocket, fearing an apocalyptic end for the planet. Their current leader is Archmage Qelerei, a deeply paranoid diviner and the older brother of Liamee of the Soulsworn.
  • Cymbia: The most recent recruit, the wood elven kingdom allied with the Covenant in 895 4A when their crown princess, Princess Nimria, was kidnapped by agents of Yog. Their current leaders are King Maoras and Queen Sionne, one in mourning for their kidnapped daughter, the other cold with vengeance.
  • Khûm: Called the Reclaimed Kingdom, Khûm is the homeland of the dwarven people. Khûm provides resources and stout dwarven defenders to the Covenant, though they are politically more conservative than nearly any other faction. Their current leader is Ydra, Queen Under The Mountain, a young and untested ruler.
  • Sixfold Faith: The largest organized religion in Ondûn, the Sixfold Faith spearheads the worship of the Prime Pantheon and, in particular, opposes the worship of Yog. They are steadfast and zealous, seeking the most drastic means necessary to curb the Black Star’s rise. Their current leader is the Supreme Pontiff Athalia the Second, though she is nearing the end of her long reign.
  • Thorp: The headquarters of the Covenant Kingdoms, the Nation of Cities is a bastion against Yog’s corrupting influence and, since the inception of the alliance, there’s been fierce fighting at the Gatehouse, the island fortress that guards the way into Thorp. Their current leader is the scandalous Lord Mayor Osvaldo Goldglass, once the field general of the Unsung Heroes, a mercenary army.

Campaigns

All Hail Yog

  • The Watchtower: Marshaled by the Soulsworn, Covenant forces – Cymbian archers, Khûmish phalanx, Ascendant wizards and the Knights Metro – held the Gatehouse in the Bay of Thorp against three invasions in 895 4A and so blunted Yog’s efforts to invade Thorp. Only on the fourth attempt, when backed by the Marked of Yog, did the forces of evil win through.
  • The Covenant: In 897 4A, the five heads of the Covenant – Lord Mayor Goldglass, Queens Ydra and Sionne, Archmage Qelerei and Supreme Pontiff Athalia – convened in Thorp for a rare, in-person conference. Unbeknownst to them, word of this meeting reach Yog’s ear and the Black Star dispatched a team of villains to assassinate them all. One by one, the dignitaries fell. Supreme Pontiff Athalia was slain by a burst of electricity Alizabeth, Dr. Hughbert’s beloved flesh golem, while Desdemonia murdered her second-in-command, the young Boris, before he could escape. Alizabeth claimed another by crushing the Lord Mayor’s head. Desdemonia claimed the remaining two, felling Ydra with an arrow through the eye and Sionne, after a bitter confrontation, with a sword through her gut. Only Archmage Qelerei escaped, his simulacrum dispatched by a frustrated Skoura. The villains were nonetheless successful – the Covenant Kingdoms fell that day, unable to recover from such a titanic blow.
