The Great White Stag
The Great White Stag is the herald of Erastil, the god of the hunt, family, and farming. He appears as an enormous pale-white stag standing over 30 feet at his withers, with living branches for antlers and green vines around its legs.
The Great White Stag has been sighted deep into the Narlmarches Woods but no hunter has ever been able to land a killing blow. The story goes that tens of years ago one of the greatest huntresses from Kyonin travelled up the river to find and kill the stag to prove once and forever her prowess. After weeks of tracking she managed to spot the Stag and after seven long days of prowling she managed to take a shot at it. The arrow only grazed the fast moving stag and the great white disappeared as a phantom in the mists of the Narlmarches woods.
A few drops of its blood fell to the soil and where they fell white flowers almost instantly rose from within the damp soil. When the huntress came close to them, it is said that their smell and beauty overwhelmed her to the point that her guilt for even trying to kill the noble creature drove her to drive her dagger through her heart, only to be saved in the last minute by the same hurt great white hart, that stopped her by wrapping it's branched antlers around her in a warm and revitalising embrace.
The legend goes that the huntress nursed the hart back to health and he became its eternal protector.
With the lands of Erastil's heart now gutted and dragged through the cosmos the fate of the hart and its protector is uncertain, many of the villagers say that when all three of the moons of the anvi go dark they can faintly smell a beautiful aroma coming from within the thickest of the woods.
