Anima Levitation Core

The Anima Levitation Core stands as a marvel of magipunk engineering. This intricate machine harnesses anima to cast a perpetual levitation spell, enabling ships to soar through the skies. Its primary function is to lift and sustain flying ships, allowing them to sail above the land and sea with grace and ease. The machine does not propel the ship. In most cases, sails are used to move the ship but some engineers have created thrusters that use powerful evocation spells to propel the ship in different directions.   The Anima Levitation Core's structure is primarily composed of Mithril , a rare and highly revered metal in Anvil. Mithril is known for its unique properties that make it ideal for magical engineering applications, especially in devices like the Anima Levitation Core, Thursters and magical weapons.   The core's framework is intricately designed with Mithril, incorporating arcane runes and geometrical patterns that enhance its magical conductivity. At the heart of the core is a glowing orb, encased in a Mithril mesh. This orb is the primary source of the levitation spell, pulsating with anima energy drawn from the connected crystal banks. The core features a network of arcane circuits, etched into the Mithril. These circuits distribute anima energy throughout the core, ensuring a stable and continuous levitation effect. The outer shell of the core is reinforced with Mithril plating, protecting the internal components from external impacts and magical surges. This outer shell is planked with treated hazel wood that minimizes the vibrations from the core stabilizes the hull of the ship. The Core connects to large banks of anima crystals, shimmering with the blueish light of anima. These crystals are crucial for fueling the levitation spell and powering additional magical devices aboard the ship.

Height Limitations

The core's enchantments are able to lift the ship up to 200 meters above the ground, with a maximum altitude of 1250 meters above sea level. When a ship exits a planar portal in many cases falls from a height of over 3000 meters and in many cases the core needs to be overcharged to break that fall. Inexperienced captains or captains without enough anima in their tanks often crush their ships after a planar jump

Recharging

The anima crystals require periodic recharging at anima wells. Depending on the crystal it can take several hours, if not days, to recharge a ship's tanks. In some cases wizards use the energy of living beings that is extracted in the time of their death to power the crystals.
