Blotted Paper

Like blotting paper, blotted paper is used to remove excess ink (from quill or pen) from paper. Unlike blotting paper, blotted paper can also nullify excess magic from the ink and paper, making a magical scroll untraceable until used. After its invention twenty years ago there have been as many accolades as their have been critiques about its use.

Blotted paper is blotting paper enchanted with the ability to remove magic from a surface.

Manufacturing process

Taking the blotting paper, the magic user is to imbue it with several layers of a form of enchantment meant to dispel other magics. After five or six layers, the magic is condensed enough to cover a surface without removing all of the magic from it.

Significance

The availability of magic scrolls that couldn't be identified as magic without closer investigation created a boom in the market of magical scrolls. For those who wanted to hide their nefarious intentions to those who simply didn't want to be questioned as to why they had a Scroll of Soft Cushions in the back of their car, this invention gave criminals more rope and everyone else more privacy.
