Alboril X (Al-boar-eel)
Emperor
Emperor Alboril X is the current leader of the Albion Empire. His reign has been marked by prolonged peace and territorial gains. Under his reign he prioritized expanding the Empire's borders into the seceded lands and improved economic and diplomatic stature. All of which have been successful.
Early Life: Alboril was the only child of Emperor Alboril IX and his wife, Empress Kilyena. His mother died shortly after he was born from complications from childbirth. His father became a very distant and cold man. He rarely praised Alboril and would leave the parenting to his staff. Emperor Alboril IX also neglected his duties to prepare young Alboril for the throne much to the dismay of his chief advisor, Lady Jeoryena Katenga. In addition to her duties as Chief Advisot to the Emperor, Lady Jeoryena took young Alboril as her formal apprentice to ensure he was prepared for the daunting task of leading an Empire. Through this aprentiship, Alboril met Lady Jeoryena's eldest daughter, Lady Reyneil. Eventually, the two were married at a large cermony with a notable absense of the Emperor.
Military Accomplishments: Prince Alboril did not spend much time beyond the required 5 years in military service. Emperor Alboril IX's reign was not charachterized by much intercontinental activity so much as it was by civil unrest. During Prince Alboril's tenure, the Albion Military functioned as more of a police force than it did a defender of the people. He was sent to quell riots more often than defened borders. The most notable riot was the Founding Day Riot which claimed 100 lives and many more injured. The riot erupted after a nobel named Lord Boril Goreno made an unknown comment to a local tavern owner. Whatever it was casued an uproar and both Lord Boril and the tavern owner were killed in the riot. Many believe the famine was the main cause of the riot and Lord Boril Goreno's comment was the tipping point. Prince Alboril manged to quell the riot by ordering his men to corral the fighters to the center square and cut off the exsits so they may continue to fight without endangering passerbyers. He ordered his men to not harm the rioters but to ensure they do not destroy the city. Once the fighting began to subside, Alboril ordered all who participated arrested which ended the riot immediatly. Many civilians credit Alboril for containing the riot and therfore saving any lives.
Assension to Emperor: Emperor Alboril IX died unexpectadly after a riding accident when Alboril X was 28. Some speculated the Emperor was murdered, but there was never any concrete proof of that. Emperor Alboril X was crowned before the masses on the steps of the Emperor's Palace. The year following his assension was maked with considerable progress, the famine that began under his father was reversed and the military was rebuilt as a defender rather than police force.
Major Successes:One of Alboril X's chief accomplishments was his commision of a university in every major city in Albion. His education initiative boosted Albion's scientific progress and lead to his country becoming the foremost scholarly community on the continent. However, Emperor Alboril X would probably say his most notable acheivment would be the creation of the continent's most succesful intelligence agency: The Whisper. The Whispers are part of Alboril's campaign to quietly gain control over seceded terrirories. The Whispers' campaign had been largley successful until recently when the Confederacy of Henesia realized the campaign and has begun to fight back. In response, Albion took the Confederacy's capital city of Liyan and the surrounding lands.
Personal Life: Emperor Alboril X and his wife, Empress Reyneil, have two children: Prince Diagil and Princess Gwendolyna. Prince Diagil has been his father's aprentice since his 15th year and Princess Gwendolyna has been the apprentice of the illusive Whisper General Dyano Calendra. Recently, Emperor Alboril X has enlisted his daugter to lead the war effort against the Confederacy of Henesia.
