Raiki
The Embodiment of Spirits
Raiki is an upright ape that was given access to Souloath, the Plane of Spirits, through a pact made with Yggdrasil. A caveat to this pact was for Raiki to be a guide for the spirits and to provide company to those that cross over. Raiki is typically known as the one that gives magic to Omedei itself, at least for those that are practitioners of nature magic. When one dies, it is Raiki they will meet, and they will be allowed time to pass. Though those that wander too far away will be damned in the direction they take and become lost. His mount is recognized as being a Plant Harvester.
Dogma
Raiki is a patient and contemplative vanara that seeks to be a mediator as opposed to being an aggressor. He treats every living thing with deep respect as the smallest influences can change what that being could be. As a shepherd for souls to their afterlives, Raiki seeks to aid these souls in achieving peace.
Gaining Favor or Redemption
To gain favor with Raiki, all one must do is show respect to the dead. However, disrespecting or desecrating the dead is against Raiki's tenets and will be a cause for needing redemption. To gain redemption, one must guide a spirit into achieving peace. This is done in an unconventional manner as the spirit must be welcomed within the body. The spirit must be protected and with the transgressor until their spirit is put to rest.
Interactions with the World
Raiki's contributions to Omedei all reside with and within the Roe-ik tree. The Roe-ik tree is a tree with ethereal leaves that shimmer with blue-white crystals. The bark, a spectral black with tendrils of gray and white as the willowy branches extend to imperceptibly touch the ground beneath it. Those that meditate underneath the canopy gain a tenuous connection to the Wake. Many dwarves plant these trees on their mountainhomes to commune with their ancestors.
