Grabguts Chew'em

The Embodiment of Hunters

Grabguts Chew'em has been known as a prolific bounty hunter and was the first hunter in the primordial pantheon. His resting place of Longfield is where His beloved, Lyla, lived and died in His arms. After burying His truest love, Grabguts sought out the means of hunting without bloodshed. This has led to Him capturing bounties alive as opposed to dead, and even with Him hunting animals purely out of necessity and with as little pain as possible. He is also a part of the Orc Pantheon as The Overlord of Orcs. His mount is recognized as being a Blue Drake.

Dogma

Grabguts is a very trusting and fun-loving orc. His definitive traits tend to be His curiosity and His merciful nature. Grabguts, after losing Lyla, has vowed to never take a life unless it is absolutely necessary. Only twice did Grabguts take a life. Once was with Lord Skald, the Icon of Monster Slayers, to save the lives of not only His friends but to save the daughter of Lord Skald. And the second life was of Auros Fellarch, the Paragon of Rulership, so Omedei could have deities to govern Omedei in His stead.

Gaining Favor or Redemption

To gain favor with Grabguts, being merciful is often the route many take. However, if one were to kill when mercy could be given, then this will displease Grabguts. For if you have the strength to stay your blade, then you will stand stronger than the most decorated of soldiers. Redemption is sought through burying one’s self up to their neck within a glade for three days. During this time, the transgressor is slowly becoming one with nature and allowing themselves to be at nature’s mercy. Typically this is performed alongside a disciple of Grabguts as to have someone that will exhume the newly forgiven worshipper.

Interactions with the world

Grabguts’s contribution to Omedei came in the form of a potato that is of a greenish coloration and red splotches underneath the skin. This potato is often called Mortalroot, but to many orcs that find these along the outskirts of the Badlands, they call this Matrana. Matrana is incredibly common within the Badlands and can even be found on the outskirts of it. To those that ingest the Matrana, they often experience a wave of heat radiate throughout their bodies. This is then felt by any soreness in their muscles dissipate, cuts and scrapes scab over, and broken bones realign and mend themselves. The Matrana is tied to Grabguts’s divinity and realm of influence. Ingesting and cooking the Matrana has led to miraculous healing effects to those that are capable of preparing the elusive tuber.
