Nimbur, The Drumming Thunder of War ((Nimh-buhr))

God of Storms

Nothing carries as much natural fury as a storm. Pouring rain, shattering thunder, and bolts of lightning streak across the sky. The thunder sounding like the slamming of angry drums, and lightning shot towards the ground with speed and force like it was thrown into the ground by an angry god. A typhoon of swirling water and wind races through the coastline and along the waves tearing apart whatever it comes across. It catches a ship and carries away some of the crew dropping them in the ocean and destroying the masts. Storms are a terrifying force of nature, but are often necessary and respected for their power and the boons they can bring. While a terrible thunderstorm or monsoon can be destructive, the agricultural boons they deposit are valued by many. There is a god who is seen as a forger of storms and crafter of clouds. One who controls what storm touches ground and when they appear. This is Nimbur, and his fury is immense like the storms he builds.   The Horned God of Storms   Nimbur has several forms, which he refers to as avatars. However, his truest form is that of the Horned God. A towering humanoid figure with bulging muscles, blue skin with glowing veins that spark like lightning. Long braided hair and a large beard are stark white and his eys are glowing like miniature suns. Large lichtenberg figures arc across his shoulders like a mantle of vinelike marks. His lower body is obscured by a large storm cloud. His head is adorned with a circlet forged from gold with blule gemstones imbedded into the smithwork. Beneath the circlet are swirling ram horns that are colored deep navy with small pale scratches and wear from battle and age. His entire body reacts to his emotions. When calm, his veins and lichtenberg figures glow with a faint blue light and the clouds upon which he flies upon are calm like white pillows, but when excited his veins begin to light up sporadically like lightning. His lichtenberg figures flash like lightning and his clouds become a furious storm.   A Faith of Passion, Rain, and Blood   Nimbur is the most volatile god of The Campiotic Guide being abrasive, violent, and spiteful. He is always itching for a fight and his worshippers belong to many walks of life, from peaceful farmers praying to spare their crops and bring rain, to an artist or musician seeking inspiration, or a warrior who seeks glory and blood in a battle that is to come. The majority of his most devout worshippers come from the lands of Salicia. The Salic Peoples worship Nimbur as their primary deity and his most devout orders can trace their origins back to Salicia. The Salic Peoples praise Nimbur due to his importance in their agricultural cycle and their importance culturally as a group with a rich oral history of heroes and battle. Several of Salicia's greatest proclaimed heroes are disputed demigods of Nimbur and it is said that Nimbur at one point fell in love with a human woman from Salicia, until she perished at the hands of a man who sought her hand but refused him. He was struck down by Nimbur and lightning struck his body 20 times.   During The Ruination, Nimbur was one of the gods who spent his time looking for a fight, alongside his deity wife Regina, Queen of Victory in a flying fortress. They assisted Gradi in hunting down their creator's killer. They surged towards a tear in the abyss to halt a demonic invasion. When a rift opened in Salica, Nimbur fought on the planes, while his paladins, clerics, and devotees fought on the mortal realm. This rift was closed and blood soaked the soil as countless laid dead. When the rift closed, a storm coated the sky and remains to this day, creating the Everstorm Plains.   Now Nimbur is a Campiotic Deity with his wife and they serve as the war gods of the pantheon. They are the patrons of warriors, soldiers, and heroes alike. However, Nimbur has maintained his domain over the skies, storms, and fury of nature.
