Renéul Caravan

I see seventeen arrows, five burn marks, one broken door, and two of your horses are missing. I'd say your journey was quite uneventful!
— Commoner, talking of a Renéul Caravan
The journeys made in Olivia from the western reaches of F'yore to the lands east of Widuw Peaks are considered dangerous and treacherous, especially those that pass through the Battlefelds and the Bandetlands. Since at least the early parts of the second millennia in the Age of the Third Clans, trade between F'yore and Lamércia, Valyea, Yule's Heart and Kettel has been important. F'yore has the most produce export of any region in Olivia and for a good while, land was the easiest method to transport these exports.   Originally travelling merchants would use the horse-and-cart, but these have had to evolve as bandits, highwaymen, and other ne'er do wells have attempted and often succeeded in pillaging goods. Nowadays, the Renéul Caravan is an easily recognised form of transport.   Building off the wagon, the Renéul Caravan is often a highly secured box like carriage, with heavy wood used in its construction. Many of the components in building the carriage are made with redundancy in mind - either to be easily replaced if damaged, or left behind if in a hurry. They are built with the intention that an attack will occur, and so to minimise the loss in goods when an attack occurs. They include secret compartments, sturdy doors, and are able to be drawn by three horses with room for six.   Renéul Caravans are built by the Renéul Cartwright Company, assembled in secret, and marked with a seal of authenticity. It is a great honour and mark of a rich merchant to have a true Renéul Caravan. They require special components from Tincerheim to form the complex locking systems and fine mechanical components.
