Razorback Deepbreather
Large, amphibian creatures that reside to the East of Tuya off the coast, hunted for both fun and food by the Tuyans and Sea peoples of the coast.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Deepbreathers, like Deeplurkers, are four limbed amphibious giants that hold their heritage far back to the sea serpents of the age of giants. A Deepbreather, unlike a Deeplurker which has a smoother, more quickened anatomy, have larger protective spines upon their back and their fins adorned with spikes in case of attack.
Genetics and Reproduction
Deeplurkers and Deepbreathers both reproduce the same way and it is like fish do, with a female one laying countless eggs in a nest or home of sorts, and the chosen male impregnating all of them through the water. Unlike fish however, which can spawn tons of new fish at the same time, a Deeplurkers birth is incredibly deadly, and most simply die off within the egg, leading to a birth rate of about 1/40 eggs being succesful.
Growth Rate & Stages
Deeplurkers start out incredibly small and without the rest of their limbs, resembling a tadpole almost, through grow exponentialy in size reaching full growth in about twenty years.
Ecology and Habitats
Deepbreathers specifically are only found and spotted off the eastern coast of Tuya, leading many to believe they evolved from Deeplurkers due to the Tuyans hunting the sea creatures off the coast as they have a far different, more shielded anatomy than a Deeplurker.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Deepbreathers usually hunt and devour other, lesser sea creatures, needing steady supply in order to keep itself able to swim.
Behaviour
Despite their intelligence being simplistic and animal-like Deepbreathers have shown above average intelligence at times, being able to raise their arms in what seems like surrender as a last ditch effort should they deem a fight not going in their favor, along with like their Deeplurker counterparts showing signs of some extreme sadism when hunting.
Additional Information
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Deepbreathers are exclusively found off the coasts of Tuya, the rest of the world encountering Deeplurkers, their counterpart.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Deepbreathers, like other sea creatures, traverse the seas through sound like whales, though in addition to that they have incredible eyesight even when on land, being able to hunt their prey with ease no matter where they may go.
