Skree Players (Sk-ree)

Skree is an intense game where many riders are upon large flightless birds called Acanopys. These 9 ft tall birds are very colorful when male and rather drab when female. The object of the game is to move a large disc with your player upon it across the field and into a large set of circles that slowly decrease in size. the disc will come to a stop and different points are awarded for where in the circles it stops with the smallest circle worth the most points and the largest circle worth the least.    Skree is incredibly dangerous and players have been known to get wounded in the game and are called "Skreemers" when they receive a wound from a fast moving disc. The scar itself is called a Skreem.    each team has 7 players on the field, each riding a bird, and armed with a lance with a Y shaped end used to push rivals off the disc and to defend themselves when on the disc. a rider must approach the disc and leap upon it and defend it while his or her team mates push the disc around the field to the opponent's starting side in order to score points in one of the 7 circles. The other team will attempt to knock off a rider who has jumped on a disc in order to cease their ability to score.    The disc will only move between 10-40ft after it is no longer being pushed and it must have a rider upon it to score. The largest circle is worth 1 point and each circle above that is worth the previous circle's points added together: 1 for the largest, 2 for the next largest, 3 for the 3rd, 5 for the 4th, 8 for the 5th, 13 for the 6th, and 21 for the 7th and smallest circle.    There are 4 types of players in the game of Skree: Diskers, Brawlers, Pushers, and Wranglers.  Diskers: these are often the smallest of the Skree players as they must leap from their bird and land atop the score disc in order to ride it to a point circle. They are nimble and able to fend off those trying to jump onto the disc or knock them off. a team will employ 2 of these members in case one becomes injured.  Brawlers: often the biggest of the players, these players are large and burly. they often wear heavy armor and spend their time trying to unseat riders from the other team. There are two brawlers.  Pushers: are those that ride the largest birds on either side. Often Their bird is flashy and male in order to distract the other team. Pushers are in charge of moving the disc down the field, lining up a shot, and sending the disc down the field with their rider upon it. Wrangler: Wranglers are often of medium build and try to ride the fastest birds on the field. Their job is to catch their Disker's bird once they leap off of the bird onto the disc in case their disker is knocked off. Some teams will use a Wrangler to try to steal the rival's bird so that their disker doesn't have a mount if knocked off. The Wrangler can place the bird that is captured into a pen for safekeeping. Wranglers are the only member without a lance, rather they have a lasso.    Teams: The Silent Griffons: a team consisting of all elves, 3 male, 4 female. gold and blue colors. The Doves: a team of 3 halflings, 2 orcs, and 2 humans. red and purple colors.  The Pharaoh's Skreemers: a team of 7 humans, 3 female, 4 humans. all in crimson and white colors.  The Vigilant Vipers: a team of 6 elves and 1 halfling woman. Green and Blue colors.  Neseri's Barges: a team of 3 dwarves and 4 gnomes. yellow and orange colors.  Gimpsly's Magic Emporium's Skree Team: a team of all gnomes wearing garish orange and violet. sponsored by Gimpsly. mostly just to get Gimpsly's name out there, they are not great at the game and are a new team. The Deadly Stingers: a team with 5 half orcs and 2 humans. wearing black and Blue colors.  Ab-Mu's Cats: a team of 3 halflings, 2 tabaxi, and a human. wearing silver and black.
