Following Aiden's mother leaving town, many of the Ten Sleep Pack stepped in to help Wyatt raising the twins, including Shirley, who would often mind them when their father was working, and became very close to them. When the Ten Sleep Pack was murdered and the twins kidnapped, Shirley chose to enter into a relationship with a member of the Johnson Pack in order to stay close to the twins and protect them. Over the next three years she functionally became the twins' mother, and the only adult they could trust or rely on. Realising she would not be able to get the twins away from the Johnson pack safely, she endured violent abuse to stay close to them. Three years after the murder of the Ten Sleep Pack, she was killed by her boyfriend, a loss which devastated the twins.
