Snakefalls

The semi-nomadic Imcrian clans travel much of the year, settle down temporarily for various reasons, but never settled down permanently until a few years ago. After the defeat of the Aventarlan usurper, Snakefalls became the first city of brick and mortar.

From Ash to Stone

Over the course of centuries, the Aventarlan Republic conquered much of the eastern coast of the Gulf Vile, land that Imcrian clans originally called home. Many settlements sprung up along the coast, the largest being Clerfort, settled nicely on a high cliff. From here, the republic controlled this region.
During the Last War for the North, Imcrian warrior clans were known for burning Aventarlan settlements down to the ground, erasing all traces that the enemy had ever been present. The same fate befell Clerfort, when at the end of the war 100.000 Imcrian warriors attacked, raided and burned the city down to the ground.
Following the war, the major clans of Imcri signed a treaty with one another, declaring that in face of war with a foreigner, they would drop inter-clan disputes and unite under a single flag. From this, an advisory council was formed which includes members from many clans. The only problem that arose was that a travelling council would be hard to find, and so the council settled permanently in the ashes of their last victorious battle. They named the settlement Snakefalls, for it was there that the usurper snake had fallen.

A City Fit for Nomads

It was not just the council, but their family members too that settled in Snakefalls. Soon a small community had gathered and many tents sat between and on top of the remaining stone ruins. In a need to adapt and change along with the modernising world, more people joined permanently and the settlement eventually grew into a small city. Tents were replaced with stone structures, but never really left the cityscape.
Characteristic to the city are the wide streets and large open spaces between the various buildings. The open spaces include parks, grazing fields and camping spots for visiting clans. Once every five years, all clans gather in Snakefalls for the Day of the Right Chosen, where nation wide issues are discussed, and the council members are revised and sometimes challenged. During this grand event, tent camps spill out of the dedicated spaces, fill the streets, cover rooftops, and double the city in size.
