The Song
“In the beginning there was the Song. It whispered and rang through the empty void in perfect endless harmony. But the Song changed, notes rising high and dipping low, straining and straying until parts of the Song became discordant and diverged from one another straining against the bonds of their chorus.
And together they sang in the void. They spun around one another, churning the Song into a maelstrom with their struggle – twisting and pressing the song into a terrible crescendo that cast the discordant strains into the void. There they spun, their clashing notes struggling to find harmony without the Song until eventually they tired and grew silent.
From the silence one raised its notes and spoke with a voice, saying “I am alone.”
In deep tones the other spoke, “No, I am always with you for we are part of the Song.” – Inscription from the Enigma Stone
Structure
The oldest, primeval gods are Cerun, Macha, Ashryn, Ranimas, Kala, Madit, and the Stranger. These elder gods govern the core of existence. Their children are the gods of creation: sprung from the essence of the works of their parents. All save Umra, lord of Undeath. Umra was a mortal who, through wild ambition and mysterious explorations, was able to amass immense power - enough to challenge the gods themselves.
