Eatain (Eh-tayn)
At times it could be argued that Eatain is, in fact, two kingdoms. Though only one throne rules the realm, the sturdy Bretans vie with the chivalrous Gascoyne endlessly for rule of their beloved Green Hills. Fortunately, the conflict has been mostly bloodless for the last generation. Eatainen nobility take the code of chivalry very seriously and now resolve their disputes upon the Field of Honor – to the great relief and entertainment of the peasantry.
Jacques Gascoyne rules the now-beleaguered nation. Eatain’s armies were broken alongside the imperial legions and the remaining knights now harry and hunt demonic creatures laying waste to the green hills.
Regions
The country is split by the river San and the banks of the Great Lake Iulis. Bretany resides on the eastern shore and Gascoyne on the west.Government
A classic feudal monarchy, the Crown of Eatain rules over 7 duchies, each of which contain numerous Earldoms and Counties. There are currently four Gascoyne dukes and three Bretan dukes who maintain a veneer a unity despite the squabbling of their liegemen.Religion
While Tyr, Vestra, and Seranna are the most popular gods, temples to nearly every deity can be found in Eatain.Races
Humans are the dominant race in Eatain, but it is not uncommon to find Ilyri elves in courts of Gascoyne nobility. Half-orcs, though rarer and less welcome, have also been known to live in northern Bretany and occasionally win honors on the tourney field.
