Ayame Saki
The woman who touched a conqueror's soul
Ayame Saki is a woman who lived in a hut on the beach of Sapphire Sea, who came to be the first person to ever encounter a Spaniard when a Franciscan priest, named Geronimo de Aguilar, became shipwrecked off the coast in 1518, to which she healed him to perfection and allowed him to stay at her hut until he can get back on his feet. But her discovery changed when she saw a Spanish fleet of 11 ships come from the coast, initially believing them to be pirates and sounded an alarm to nearby Shajin units. Despite the misunderstanding, the leader of the expedition, Hernán Cortés, protected her from being killed by Alvarado after she assaults him for touching her hips, where she almost immediately became enamored by Cortés. After the skirmish that took the life of Gonzalo, she admitted via Geronimo that she was the one who warned the Shajin of pirates, causing some of the conquistadors to try to kill her, but Cortés protected her again after she told the Spanish where they can find villages around the area.
During the many raids, she was the only one who managed to convince Cortés to spare certain villagers from the raids, causing Cortés to fall in love with both her beauty and strong will when standing up to a warrior. This attraction only increased when she opened up to Cortés about her loneliness, to which she became enamored by Cortés when he sympathized with her on being together. The relationship turned from acquaintance to lovers after Ayame saved Cortés from a falling boulder along the way, showing her desire to protect him, sparking them to forge a newfound relationship, despite the fact Cortés was already married and going against his beliefs. It turned into a marriage at the newly established Castle Cortés after she told him she was pregnant, to which he forced a priest to annul him from his previous marriage to stop the child from becoming a bastard, as he believed that she can give him a worthy heir.

Personal history
Ayame previously belonged to a large group of nomads along with her family, but her family decided to settle down at an abandoned lookout point on the beach of Sapphire River, where she became extremely fond of swimming in the river and dreams of sailing on a boat, but her family joked that she would have to use the wood of the house as she was too small to cut down trees. Over the years, she eventually became the last of her family when she became an adult, due to her mother passing away and her father and brothers conscripted into the army, leaving her alone to live at the hut.
