Marobunta Queen
The queens of the Marobunta are the greatest of their race in stature, ability, and rank. They are the only fertile female marobunta, and rule over their children as living god-queens, their every whim waited on with fanatical loyalty. They are massive, potentially reaching twenty feet in height, and are possessed of strength to match their stature. More powerful than her body, though, are her mind and soul. The queens are descended from the sage of Earth, arguably the greatest of the three sages the insectoid races draw descent from, and in their veins and souls burns the magical power inherent in that ancestry, awoken by the precise application of Kenaihwa. A marobunta queen is amongst the most powerful mages in all of creation.
However, much of their physical strength will quickly atrophy, or rather it will become inadequate; their life of ease invariably makes them fat and bloated, to the point that most are permanently without carapace. Most do not deign to walk, and instead are carried in great litters by their dutiful daughters. Some, referred to as Warrior Queens, do not allow themselves to become so soft, instead leading their daughters to war from the front, using their great strength and magical power to scatter the foe before them. However, given the importance of a queen to a hive, these women are regarded as foolish at best and insane at worst by their kin and even some of their subjects; her life is worth more than all of her daughters combined, after all. In the earliest stage of her life, when she is still a princess, she will be winged, but these are surgically removed after her first mating as a coming of age ritual. Most queens would be too heavy to fly even if they still had them.
