Basic Information

Anatomy

While not strictly biologically alive, Templar have souls and a Lifeforce. They are golem-like crystalline constructs with a humanoid shape.

Biological Traits

Shaped from rock, gemstones or, in rare instances, metals, Templar lack many features of a biological creature, such as a mouth or nose for breathing or any internal organs of any kind.

Genetics and Reproduction

Templar are not born nor do they have a gender, since they are living crystals, but the process of creating offspring is no less intimate than for other species. Two Templar sculpt the form of their offspring and then spend many days pooling their own lifeforce together to create a distinct individual. (Souls are either attracted to the new lifeforce anchor or there are a fixed number of Templar and a new Templar is only created when one dies so their soul can be transferred to the new body.)

Social Structure

Templar have a kind of connected consciousness based on their proximity to other Templar that allows swift communication and shared purpose. When Templar are together, they contribute to the group's attention and concentration mentally, increasing their computational speed and capacity. They have a caste system, where individuals are born into a role and have little opportunity for change.

Facial characteristics

Angular and non-descript, lacking finer features such as nostrils.

Average Intelligence

While any individual Templar is considered intelligent by their peers in the other races, Templar are able to increase their intellectual capabilities by being in close proximity to other Templar.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Templar are particularly attuned to the flow of magic which allows them to detect mana in use at extreme ranges and can even sense disturbances in other energies beyond the senses of most races.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

They are reclusive, uninterested in mingling in other societies. They interact with the Elves and Dragons when they must and ignore the Child Races.
