The Dark War

The Dark War was the most devastating battle in the entire history of Eldorahn. It was an Apocalyptic battle where all the races of the world had to unite in order to fight back against a massive invasion of demons attempting to claim the souls of every sentient being. Only with the combined might of all the races and the aid of the Seven Heroes was the war won and the world and its inhabitants left in peace.

The Conflict

Prelude

The Dark War began when a small number of casters first summoned beings from other worlds.  At first they claimed to be benevolent spirits of virtue, wisdom, and knowledge when in truth they where in fact demons.  They discovered Eldorahn when the numerous races first began to discover and use magic.  As time went on they slowly began to win the trust of those who summoned them and began to warp their minds.  As their corruption began to spread through the hearts and minds of everyone they could, the dark religion of the Malikar was born.  At first it was no more than a small cult of fanatics obsessed with blood sacrifice to dark gods but their numbers grew over time.  It was not until they had created their own civilization and began summoning demons into the world that the world began to take them a true threat.

Battlefield

The Dark War was a worldwide war that stretched across all of Eldorahn.  No kingdom or race was safe from the Infernal Legion's reach, endless waves of demons spread throughout the entire world consuming the souls of all in their path.  Together all of the united races with the aid of the Seven Heroes stood together to push back the demonic invasion.  Each of the Seven Heroes were charged with protecting several races and their respective kingdoms while at the same time teaching them magic, combat, and warfare.

Outcome

After 15 years, the Seven Heroes and the United Races had succeeded in their mission and drove back the Infernal Legion from Eldorahn.  The Seven Heroes had spent several more years using their powers to aid in the recovery of the world that they had helped protect.  When their work was done the Seven had left the .  The world was in ruins but it had survived and recovered slowly.

Aftermath

It took hundreds of thousands of years for the world to recover, not just the world but also its peoples.  The Dark War had brought many races to the brink of near extinction and almost wiped out all civilization.  For a time many of the races returned to their own corners of the world and with time began to recover very slowly.  Unfortunately, as time went on many of the races began to slowly forget the pacts and treaties that they made to stand together in the Dark War.  So much so that once recovered some resumed with past conflicts and re-opened old wounds.  Though few have managed to stay allies, it is an unfortunate reality that all of Eldorahn lives with now.

Draw power from their enemies fear, hate, destructive tendencies, lust, murder, greed, and sinful ways. If offered sacrifices they can be brought to anywhere. When consuming souls their power at least doubles per souls consumed.

Combined forces and resources of nearly every race and faction in the entirety of the known world. Everything from weapons, magic, knowledge of every co-operating race.

Objectives

Attaining the souls of all Oarus' inhabitants to fuel their powers and increase the armies. The total destruction of the world.
