Worldbuilding Awards 2024
Worldbuilding Awards season is here! This is the first time I have ever participated in WAWA, despite having an account since 2021. Up until last year all of my major world building was on paper. I happened to get drawn into Summercamp and I was able to change so much of how I handled my worldbuilding. 2023 was a big year for me in my writing and it feels only right to continue to reflect on all of the progress last year by picking some of the articles I am most proud of to share with you all!

Isalde is one of my favorite characters in this world. Her position grants her a lot of power and leads her to be quite arrogant at times, but when given a little freedom she will happily focus in on anything that catches her attention. The capital city is one giant game board for her, and she is quite happy to sit back move the pieces to her benfit.
The Hanging Web was not initially planned as a part of the capital city of the human nation, but served to fill a gap created by the long history of hatred between the races. I really love what this area under the city turned into.
I have found that I love creating plants for Oabos. The Fleshweaver Mushrooms are the first plant I created for the world and it really exmplefies the nature of Oabos. Everything is systained by the world core more than the light of it's local star. The more closely tied to core light plants are, the more uniquetraits they will have. This article is also the first one to really gather likes and attention, so it will always hold a pecial place for me in its own right.
The Order of the Discerning Gaze is the very center of change on Oabos. They are the religious core of the human contingent which was left behind on Oabos. They are the source of both the major accomplishments and conflict in the world at the present time.
The Crystal Conveyance System is a prime example of the natural magic of Oabos being used and developed similarly to technology. This is a massive transit system which runs via elemental magic, but also relies on basic laws of science to function.
