Discerning Gaze

The Discerning Gaze is a holy order dedicated to the protection of the People of Radiance. This group is the remnants of a religious order from their homeworld, before they were trapped. The order claims to still hold the name of their god in reverance and keep it within their light. In truth, they have long since forgotten the true name of their god like everyone else and simply use this as a form of power over the people. Only those who are still filled with only his light are said to remember his name.

The order of the Discerning Gaze is focused in the captial Chronwhorl, and the spires at its center. The central spire is the Radiant Spire. The Radiant Spire is home to the main body of the religious order. Priests, priestesses, wards, and holy knights live here in the highest comfort. This is the seat of power within the People of Radiance.

Surrounding the Radiant Spire are five slightly smaller, but still towering, spires. These spires house the other branches the order. Each one is dedicated to adifferent tennant of the religion.

Divine Origins

This religion comes from the old world. In their embattled ages on this distant planet, strugglin to survive, the name of their god has been forgotten. Lost to generations who didn't live long eenough to tell their stories to children old enough to understand. All that is left is the golden light and its sheltering power.

Before coming to this planet, the people came from a world of light. Their god shone down on the world as living light, guiding the world forward in innovation, discovery, and expansion. This hunger for knowledge lives on in the people of the Discerning Gaze still, but so to does thestrict nature of control that comes from a living god who is always watching.

While there is only one god, he has many eyes. One of these eyes came on the expendition and has been trapped on the planet. An unseen being who is always watching, and who's light shelters the faithful.
