Lightbringer Spire

Shine Her holy light upon the world
In the capital city of Chronwhorl there are six spires that hold the six branches of the Order of the Discerning Gaze. The central spire, the Radiant Spire, houses the core of the religion and the five remaining spires are spread out in a ring near the outer edges of the city. This positioning forms a giant clock with the city, where the Lightbringer tower holds the position of starting the day. A full day's cycle is marked when the low hanging sun travels a full rotation around the city and returns to the Lightbringer Spire to start the new day.

Appearance

Each spire has it's own distinctive appearance, based on the tenant it follows and the work it does. The Lightbringer Spire embodies the tenant of shining the holy light upon the world. In following this tenant, this spire has become the hub of goods and communication as well as the investigative force which works closely with the Battle Spire. The spire's appearance reflects this.

Contrary to the common definition of a spire, the Lightbringer Spire is a large market hub with multiple towers extending into the sky. The highest of these towers is thick and topped with an enormous observatory, surrounded by landing platforms. While the market center at the bottom trades in goods, the observatory trades in knowledge and information. The second tallest tower houses the Lightbringer Revelations; the number one news source for Chronwhorl and the surrounding towns.

Many of the landing platforms around the top of the tower are designed for small personal crafts, but there are also a few built to accommodate the larger airships of the Battle Spire. The Battle Spire ships often dock at the Lightbringer Spire upon first returning to Chronwhorl to hand in reports and intel gathered while out of the city. A few of the large battle ships stay docked permanently at the Lightbringer Spire as well, since orders tend to reach this spire before the spire they are for, and the Holy Warriors have found that keeping a few battle ships docked there can make for a very quick launch in an emergency. Functional Zones

Starting from the top of the spire, its key functional areas are:
The Observatory
The center of all intelligence gathering and dissemination. There are many floors within the observatory, with open sections along all walls and large atriums.

The Docks
The landing pads for different aircrafts are various sizes and at different levels depending on the type of craft it is designed for.

The Lightbringer Revelations
This entire portion of the tower is dedicated to the Lightbringer Revelations and spans from just above the Fog Zone to the bottom of the lowest dock.

The High Market
From the top of the Fog Zone to the base of the Lightbringer Revelations is the High Market. The high market is where physical goods are traded for anyone living in the spires, along the Shining Roads, or with enough wealth to travel up to the high market and afford the goods there.

The Fog Market
The Fog Market trades in lesser physical goods that the High Market. Its entrance is at street level in the Fog Zone, and it caters to all the residents there. These goods are of much lower quality and are often subject to artificial scarcity. People share more information than they should with strangers when they are desperate and hungry.

The Seeker Barracks
The Seekers are a branch of the Lightbringer Spire that specializes in information gathering. Many Seekers work in the observatory or in conjunction with the Battle Spire as intelligence officers. There are also teams of Seekers who work within the Fog Zone, keeping an ear to everything going on.
