Joshua Bridle

A promising young master artificer freshly graduated from Anthur-Ro, Joshua Bridle accepted a job working for Joba Gor as a defensive engineer. The money was astounding, and Bridle was given a rare opportunity to indulge a flair for evocation, big machines and bigger explosions. The kid was borderline fearless when he was having a good time, which was pretty much always.   He was amazingly quick with Fabricate, and as a prodigy with artificer's tools often stunned his colleagues by whipping up firearms in a pinch from the raw materials of the world around him.

Expedition to Cinnédil

Bridle volunteered for an expedition to CinnĂ©dil intended to bring back artifacts of notable arcane power. In addition to an academic interest in ancient artifacts, he was always keen to explore new lands and was beyond ecstatic to learn that he might be one of the few living beings to cross the ocean and see the wonders on the other side. He survived alongside Beulah Garland and Gavinus Garland for about three months before being suddenly and violently killed by a pack of displacer beasts.   Although the crew as a whole was divided, the Garlands made the executive decision to abandon the mission upon his death, reasoning that the artifacts could not be safely removed, secured and transported without the skill of an artificer. His body was returned home to Rosemount, and the Garlands stole Gor's personal yacht and escaped rather than facing his wrath at having lost Bridle and forsaken the expensive expedition that was months in the making.

Farewell Visit

In the Hall of Events Non-Canonical, Beulah mused that she wished she could see Joshua again, given the traumatic circumstances of the loss. After all, she had been on expedition with him roughly as long as she had been with The Ladies' Hiking Club at that point and bonds had begun to form.   After a few moments his shade appeared and, after a few moments of disorientation, revealed without the benefit of words that his sardonic and jokestery personality had survived the path to Hell. With gestures he communicated affection to Beulah, appreciation for how good she looked for her age, and a desire to go with her on her current adventure if he had the chance. He was, regrettably, unable to haunt her ugly stick despite extraordinary gesticulation.   He clearly bore her no ill will for the outcome of the expedition and, interestingly, communicated that he already knew that he was dead like it was old news. He had clearly been conscious in some third location between the moment of his death and his appearance in the Hall.   When last he was seen, he was loading up on maple sausages and sitting down to introduce himself to the Apathetic Bear.   As an editorial note, it is concerning that these non-canonical events are recorded in the wiki of canon. Something seems to be going wrong.
