Greater Mythologies of Nymrii and Beyond

Before the age of the Ancients, (the Fey,) were the Gods. The Gods were nearly omnipotent, and are still, but most of them are distant, and rarely express notable interest in their own creations. It would be difficult to characterize the natures of these beings. They are so alien as to be beyond even immortal ken. Still, among them are a few who are closer to the worlds in which they've played some part in the shaping, and some even fewer among those who are earthy, and invested in the "game" that is tangible reality.   There is no "Great Council" of Gods, nor treaty nor law upheld amongst them. Some occasionally come to be at odds, but this is rare. They function independently, almost as if unaware of one another's existence. Like cells in a larger being. Which briefly begs the question of whether there are entities beyond even these, perhaps drawing the awe or worship of the Gods themselves.   Never the less, we now concern ourselves with the small handful, and the even smaller handful within that rare classification.   The Ancients- the eldest of the immortal Fey- were brought into existence by an entity they addressed in their tongue as Amhranai , supposedly by means of a beautiful song, which wove the water and sky into flesh in a hundred thousand forms. In fact, it is a common thread amongst the Elves and Fey, that music is the means of Greater Creation. It is said that when the Elves created Humankind, this too was by means of a wonderful, mournful song, which so touched Amhranai's heart that he wept, and by his music-touched tears, a "sister" was born to him. A younger Eternal being, whose own heart was filled with love for both the Elves and their new mortal creation. The Elves called her Dhiorahis , 'Tears of Joy'. Dhiorahis still walks the Realms, mortal and Fey alike, and is pained by the terrible rift between them.

Historical Basis

These are Truths, as known by the Elder Fey (The Ancients.)

Spread

The Fey know these things. The Elves mostly believe them to be true. Mortals' beliefs vary, and most are aware only of hints of the original truths, now woven in a thousand or more adapted, interpreted, and fragmented myths through long ages.
