Constitution of the Grand Empire of Nuggia
"In order to aid the Nuggian people in their quest to improve their prosperity, mobilize the resources of the Grand Empire of Nuggia, and to spread to virtues of democracy to all of the peoples of the Grand Empire of Nuggia, we, the delegates to the Fourth Nuggian Constitutional Convention, with the consent of the people of the Grand Empire of Nuggia, do enact this Constitution for the Grand Empire of Nuggia" - Preamble to the Constitution of Grand Empire of Nuggia
Informally known as the Fourth Nuggian Constitution or the Nuggian Constitution of 2683, the Constitution of the Grand Empire of Nuggia is the fourth such document in Nuggian history, and is currently the legal framework through which the Grand Empire of Nuggia. Calls for a new constitution can be traced back all the way back to when the previous constitution, the Nuggian Constitution of 2599, which was criticized by even those that signed it because of the strong position of the Nuggian monarchy in the day to day running of the Government of the Grand Empire of Nuggia, the name used by every Nuggian constitution for the executive branch of the government, as well the vast powers allotted to the crown in the realm of law. To attempt to remedy this, the Fourth Nuggian Constitutions took what were perceived to be large strides in limiting the power of the King of Nuggia, including measures like removing the need for royal assent on matters of the budget and ending the need for royal approval of any individuals that would like to run for the Legislature of the Grand Empire of Nuggia, although it amazingly did nothing to end many of the levers that the Nuggian crown used to suppress opposition, one of the most notable being the The Nuggian Knights.
The ratification of the Fourth Nuggian Constitution has helped the Nuggian monarchy to quench some of the desires for greater freedom of expression and political representation by the people of Nuggia, causing what has been called a honeymoon period between the Nuggian people and the monarchy.

Purpose
The Fourth Nuggian Constitution was created to put greater limits on the Nuggian Crown following several decades of abuse by the crown under the Third Nuggian Constitution. Having been approved by a supermajority of 81% of the Nuggian population, well over the activation threshold of 75% of the Nuggian population, and not having been replaced by any subsequent document, the Nuggian Constitution of 2683 is the current legal framework for the running of the Government of the Grand Empire of Nuggia and the Legislature of the Grand Empire of Nuggia.
