Freilands
The once arcane multiple plane spanning state of Drengbani Empire is now a desolate wasteland known as the Freilands. Long since abandoned by major civilizations and considered inhospitable as if the land itself held those that dwell in it with contempt, it has remained isolated from the world, despite its close proximity to the Arcturian Empire. The act of crossing the ice is an act of bravery in itself, as one even with magic can never be certain if something is waiting beneath the frost to pull you into the abyss. Following the Discidium, life started to return to the wastes including refugees and various wildlife. The communities themselves on the fringes of the world have no centralized government, nor any resources that would cause other nations to risk going into the wastes. The majority of their food used to come from hunting and gathering but a druid circle managed to use their primal magics to create Frost Crop that could survive the wastelands 47 years ago, since then the populations in those towns have increased significantly but are still far below the average town size in the rest of the world. There is only one town in the wastes that can be truly called a city built on the dissected ruins of the destroyed city of Karvencha.

Technological Level
Technology in the region has been unable to progress much due to the nature of these lands, however occasionally someone will find a boon in the ice that benefits the tribe, such as the founding of Weinkar Boots which enable its wearers to ignore the snowy terrain when walking.
Education
There are no formal education centers on the ice, however scholars make trips to travel with tribes that may have found an archive. These scholars carry knowledge with them that they give to the tribes which then disseminates into the other tribes. Within the heated city, there does sit a library where all the tribes histories are kept so that they may be remembered if the entire tribe is wiped out.
Infrastructure
While there are no formal roads there are well worn trains that have compacted the snow and ice to such a degree that it is as hard as stone.

Major Exports
Artifacts from the Drengbani Empire are the main export of the region though they are the most luxurious. The land while once barren does contain plenty of of scrap items of rare materials that are scavenged by the natives and sent to far off lands. In recent years veins of gold have been found and those looking to get rich have moved into the lands looking to set up mines. There is also a rare tundra lumber that grows long along the eastern shoreline that contains properties conductive to making wands and staves especially those that use Enchantment magic.
Major Imports
Before Frost Crop was introduced to the society, supplementary food was the primary import. In the years since however, manufactured goods especially those used in city building as the first true population centers are beginning to appear.
