Charge up your Ki into an incredibly powerful punch that knocks a target’s soul free from their body for 1 round. Deal 50d10 Thanatonic damage and inflict the target with Stun (IX) (1). While separated from their body, they take +50% additional Etheric damage, but can only take damage targeted at their SC. Certain other interactions are also affected by the separation of soul and body; for instance, mental status effects applied physically to the body no longer have any effect.
Your meditation and control over your Ki have allowed your soul to break free of the bonds of the body. When you make the meditate action, you can choose to enter the Astral Plane. Leaving the Astral Plane is a free action. The Astral Plane is a plane that intersects with almost all other planes through a higher spatial dimension, allowing you to enter normally inaccessible realms such as pockets within the Rift, or the Etheric Plane. You can also pass through physical objects on any plane-- though when you do so, you create distortions of spacetime around your point of entry and exit that are visible to inhabitants of that plane.
Your attacks now directly target the opponent’s Spirit Class, which represents the protective abilities against a target’s ether.
Whenever you inflict a damaging status effect with your monk weapons or unarmed strikes, you also inflict Brittle (I) (1) with an equivalent damage roll to the status effect. If the attack already inflicts brittle, then the brittle damage roll is doubled and the stack count is increased by 2.
Whenever you land an attack on a target’s SC, you have a 1d4 chance of inflicting Fatigue (I) (1).
While in the Astral Plane, when you use the Help action on an ally they heal 6HD.
As an ability action, spend 3 Ki points to slap a creature in the Astral or Etheric planes into the terrestrial plane. Make a STR or Athletics check against their WIS save; on success, they are pushed into the terrestrial plane and gain Dazed (III) (1 on fail they gain Dazed (I) (1).
As an ability action, spend 5 Ki points to punch a creature into a different plane of existence. Make a STR or Athletics check against their WIS save; on fail, they are sent to the plane of your choice and gain Dazed (III) (1) and take 20d10 Spatial damage; on success they take Dazed (I) (1) and half as much damage, and are not moved.
Gain the ability to innately cast spells of the Psychoevocation school, provided you have prepared them. You can prepare up to 9 spells during a long rest. When you cast a spell, you consume Ki equivalent to the spell’s level.
Whenever you receive a positive mental status effect, you gain Ki equivalent to the tier of the status effect.
The counterattack granted by Cross Counter no longer costs a Ki Point.
When you dodge or parry an attack in Battle Trance, you can temporarily shift into the Astral Plane and make a free counterattack against the target’s SC.
When an enemy is incapacitated by KO, Petrification, Sleep, Stun, Confused, Dazed, Panic, or an effect that separates their soul from their body; you can make a contested WIS (Insight) check against them to hijack their body temporarily for 1 round. During this round, the enemy’s soul is separated from their body and can only be targeted via SC. Does not work on certain enemies.
Whenever you make a bonus attack granted by Rain of Fists, you can cast a Psychoevocation spell with a normal action cost of 1AA or less as a bonus action.
While in the Astral Plane, you are always considered to be in Battle Trance, regardless of Ki requirements.
When you are KO’ed, Petrified, Frozen, or any other negative status effect that would normally skip or modify your actions, you instead enter the Astral Plane and may continue making actions as normal. You cannot reenter your body until the effect is removed.
