Personal history
Due to her family's financial situation and decining popularity (which her father's death worsened) among the High Families, Vonda did not have the upbringing that all daughters at Court were to expect.
Her father died when she was just six years old, and because her mother could not afford to keep her at the Sisterhood's Academy with other girls her age, Vonda was pulled from school and spent the rest of her childhood and adolescence travelling the outskirts of Nova Gloriana and beyond with her mother.
Vonda always had a talent for singing, dancing and acting. So, when money was particularly scarce, she would perform at bars, clubs and travel houses. It was in one of these travel houses half-way between the Shrouded City and one of the Outer most villages in Nova Gloriana's territory that a travelling group of musicians and actors discovered Vonda and asked her to join their group. Vonda and Lady Violet would spend the next eight years travelling with them.

Motivation
Although Vonda is a true believer in the abolitionist cause, her primary motivation is to get revenge and vindication for her mother who was murdered by members of the Brotherhood.

History
Venus recruited Vonda into the Vipers after the death of her mother, Lady Violet. It was Venus who was responsible for training, raising and embedding Vonda at Court where she would be positioned to become the mistress of the Interior Minister.
