Personal history
Karl was born on Nova Babylon, his father was on Earth when it was destroyed.
His mother had to do it alone from then on, Karl tried to help where he could. He was just too young to work. Something that changed when he turned sixteen.
His mother worked three jobs but became ill from the stress and fatigue. Only then did the neighbors intervene by taking Karl and his younger sister out of the house. He went to a boys 'home and his sister went to Locksley house for young Girls. When he visited his sister he came into contact with the Fallen Angels and Johanna Fitzwaring in particular.
Even after his training with the Nova's, he is good friends with the Angels.
